Here at Kentucky Gun Shop in Louisville, we’ve seen plenty of guys try to polish a turd on their Shield trigger. Skip the file work. This Apex Tactical kit is a drop-in upgrade that actually does what it says. You’re getting a solid aluminum trigger body—no more of that factory hinged plastic nonsense—paired with Apex’s Duty/Carry components. Expect a shorter, cleaner pull, a crisp reset you can actually feel, and about a 1–2 lb reduction in pull weight. Pre-travel and over-travel cut down roughly 20%. Factory safety values stay intact; the center-mounted pivoting safety still does its job.
This is built for everyday carry or duty work. Fits the Shield M2.0 in 9mm or .40 S&W. Will not fit the .45 ACP Shield or the original Gen 1 Shield. Installation is straightforward, but we strongly recommend having an armorer or gunsmith install the Ultimate Striker Block (USB) into the slide. Don’t cheap out on that step.
