This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website at kentucky-gunshop.com or make a purchase from us. 3. Firearms Purchase Data Retention — ATF Requirements
As a Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL), we are subject to strict recordkeeping requirements under federal law (27 CFR Part 478). We are legally required to retain records of all firearm transactions — including Form 4473 information — for a minimum of 20 years. This is a federal legal obligation that supersedes normal data deletion requests for transaction records. If our business were to close, all transaction records would be transferred to the ATF in accordance with federal regulations.
This long-term retention applies specifically to: the identity of the transferee, the firearm transferred (make, model, serial number), the date of transfer, and the FFL dealer through whom the transfer was completed. This data cannot be deleted upon request due to mandatory ATF retention requirements.
4. Information Sharing and Third-Party Processors
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as necessary with:
- Payment Processors: We use industry-standard PCI-DSS compliant payment processing. Your payment card data is transmitted directly to our payment processor; we do not store or have access to your full card number.
- Shipping Carriers: FedEx and UPS receive your FFL dealer’s name and address to complete firearm delivery. Name and address only — no financial information.
- FFL Receiving Dealers: We share your name and our FFL documentation with your chosen receiving dealer to complete the transfer, as required by federal law.
- Government Authorities: We will disclose information to law enforcement or government agencies when required by law, subpoena, court order, or ATF inspection.
- Business Operations: We may use third-party service providers for email marketing, analytics, and website hosting. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than providing their services to us.
5. Cookie Policy
